<span style="font-size: large;">కథలో పెద్దగా మేటర్‌ లేకపోయినా కానీ స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. ఒక మామూలు కథనే కొత్త స్టయిల్‌లో నెరేట్‌ చేయడం మెప్పిస్తుంది. కాకపోతే కీలకమైన హీరో హీరోయిన్ల ప్రేమ సన్నివేశాలని చాలా మామూలుగా తీసేసారు. ఆ సన్నివేశాలు బాగుండి ఉంటే ప్రథమార్థం మరింత ఇంప్రెస్‌ చేసేది. ఇంటర్వెల్‌ సీన్‌లో వచ్చే ట్విస్ట్‌ బాగా పేలింది. ఆ సీన్‌ తర్వాత సెకండ్‌ హాఫ్‌ యాక్షన్‌ ప్రధానంగా సాగుతుందేమో అనే ఫీలింగ్‌ వస్తుంది కానీ తర్వాత కూడా ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్‌ మీదే ఫోకస్‌ పెట్టి తెలివిగా మేనేజ్‌ చేసారు. ఈమధ్య కామెడీ అంటే ఒకే రకమైన ఫార్ములాని నమ్ముకుంటున్నారు. బ్రహ్మానందంని బకరా చేస్తూ... హీరోతో మైండ్‌ గేమ్స్‌ ఆడించడం మామూలైపోయింది. ఈ సినిమాలో అలాంటి రొటీన్‌ కామెడీ లేకపోవడం పెద్ద రిలీఫ్‌. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">అయితే క్లయిమాక్స్‌ని కూడా కామెడీగానే తీసే ఉద్దేశంతో మీడియా నేపథ్యంలో ప్రకాష్‌రాజ్‌పై తీసిన సీన్స్‌ మరీ శ్రుతి మించాయి. లాజిక్‌కి అతీతంగా సాగే ఆ సన్నివేశాలని అందరూ ఎంజాయ్‌ చేయలేరు. కొన్ని మైనస్‌లు ఉన్నప్పటికీ కాలక్షేపానికి లోటు లేని సినిమా ఇది. కమర్షియల్‌ ఎలిమెంట్స్‌ మిస్‌ కాకుండా, ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్‌కి లోటు లేకుండా చూసుకుని సేఫ్‌ గేమ్‌ ఆడడం వల్ల ‘పిల్లా నువ్వు లేని జీవితం’ అన్ని వర్గాల ప్రేక్షకులతోను ఫర్వాలేదనిపించుకుంటుందే తప్ప.. బాగోలేదు, విసిగించింది.. లాంటి కామెంట్స్‌ తెచ్చుకోదు. కాకపోతే ఈ ఐడియాని మరింత కొత్తగా ప్రెజెంట్‌ చేసే స్కోప్‌ ఉన్నా కానీ డైరెక్టర్‌ దానిని ఒక స్థాయికే లిమిట్‌ చేసేసాడనిపిస్తుంది. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌ ఇంజినీర్‌ రాజేష్‌ (విష్ణు) అమెరికా వెళ్లి సెటిల్‌ అవ్వాలని కలలు కంటూ ఉంటాడు. ఎంతో కాలం వేచి చూసిన తర్వాత రాజేష్‌కి అమెరికా వెళ్లే అవకాశం వస్తుంది. వెళ్లడానికి మరో మూడు నెలల సమయం ఉండడంతో తనని పెంచి పెద్ద చేసిన తాతయ్యతో (దాసరి) ఉండాలని అనుకుంటాడు. అయితే జీవితాంతం పల్లెలోనే గడిపిన తాతయ్య నగరంలోని అపార్ట్‌మెంట్స్‌ కల్చర్‌కి, అర్బన్‌ లైఫ్‌ స్టయిల్‌కి పూర్తి భిన్నంగా ఉంటాడు. ఆయన వల్ల రాజేష్‌కి రకరకాల ఇబ్బందులు వస్తాయి. తన కెరీర్‌ ప్రమాదంలో పడుతుంది. తను ప్రేమించిన రాజీ (కేథరీన్‌) కూడా రాజేష్‌కి దూరమవుతుంది. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">ఆరంభ సన్నివేశాలు చాలా డల్‌గా, అవుట్‌ డేటెడ్‌గా అనిపిస్తాయి. విష్ణు, కేథరీన్‌ మధ్య ప్రేమ సన్నివేశాలు... కృష్ణుడు-మేల్కోటే మధ్య కామెడీ దృశ్యాలు ముప్పయ్యేళ్ల క్రితం వచ్చిన సినిమా చూస్తున్న ఫీలింగ్‌ ఇస్తాయి. తాత పాత్ర తెర మీదకి వచ్చాక కాసేపు సరదాగా సాగుతుంది. అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌ కాంప్లెక్స్‌లోని ఫౌంటేన్‌లో స్నాన్నం చేయడం, అక్కడే బట్టలు ఉతికి ఆరేసుకోవడం లాంటివి కాస్త అతిగా అనిపించినా కానీ కామెడీ అనుకుని సరిపెట్టుకోవాలి. తాతా మనవళ్ల అనుబంధానికి సంబంధించిన సన్నివేశాలు మినహా మిగతావన్నీ ఆర్టిఫిషియల్‌గా, ఫోర్స్‌డ్‌గా అనిపిస్తాయి. ఇండిపెండెంట్‌ వుమన్‌ అయిన కేథరీన్‌ క్యారెక్టర్‌ అలా ఒక పెద్దాయనని అమితంగా ద్వేషించడం పాత్రోచితంగా అనిపించదు. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">ద్వితీయార్థంలో సినిమా మూడ్‌ పూర్తిగా మారిపోతుంది. డ్రామా పాళ్లు ఎక్కువై రిలీఫ్‌కి ప్లేస్‌ లేకుండా పోతుంది. దాంతో కామెడీ కోసమని బ్రహ్మానందంపై కాకుల ఎపిసోడ్‌ ఒకటి తీసారు. అది నవ్వించకపోగా... సినిమాకే అతి పెద్ద తలనొప్పిగా మారింది. సెంటిమెంట్‌ సీన్లు, ఇతర పాత్రలు తాత గొప్పతనం తెలుసుకునే సన్నివేశాలు అన్నీ గతంలో చూసినవే కావడంతో కొత్తదనం లేకుండా పోయింది. లాస్ట్‌ సీన్‌ మాత్రం ఎమోషనల్‌గా చాలా ఎఫెక్టివ్‌గా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఆ లెవల్‌ ఎమోషన్స్‌ సినిమాలో ఎక్కువగా ఉండి ఉంటే సెంటిమెంట్‌ ప్రియులని అయినా ఎర్రబస్సు శాటిస్‌ఫై చేసి ఉండేది. లీడ్‌ క్యారెక్టర్స్‌తో కనెక్ట్‌ ఏర్పడకపోవడంతో  ఆ పాత్రలు గురయ్యే భావోద్వేగాలతో ప్రేక్షకులకి సంబంధం లేకుండా పోయింది. ఇలాంటి సినిమాలకి లీడ్‌ క్యారెక్టర్‌తో ఎమోషనల్‌ బాండ్‌ చాలా అవసరం. అలా పాత్రల్ని  ప్రేక్షకులు ఓన్‌ చేసుకునేలా చేయడంలో ఎర్రబస్సు విఫలమైంది. పాత కాలం పద్ధతుల్లో సాగే కథనం, రిలీఫ్‌కి చోటివ్వని ద్వితీయార్థం.. ఎర్రబస్సు జర్నీని కష్టతరం చేస్తుంది.</span></div>
